A sacred space to uncover your truth, write with courage, and share without judgment.
You don’t have to be a writer to take the class…merely someone who wants to let loose, take creative risks, push past well-worn territory, and move into something new.
Writing can be a way back to yourself—a practice that uncovers hidden truths, fosters connection, and brings healing. Write Club is a guided writing experience where we quiet the noise, pick up a pen, and let the words flow.
Over the course of two hours, we write three times, using poetry as a jumping-off point. The practice is not about perfection; it’s about presence. Whether you’re a seasoned writer, a beginner, or someone simply curious, this is a safe space to explore your voice.
Write Club has been transformative for me. I joined the group seven years ago and now I cannot imagine my life without it. The experience of writing together around Julie’s table is deep, real – often hilarious – and Julie holds it all with poise, grace, and warmth.

My life would not be the same without Write Club. The pen can reach a part of me that struggles to have a voice. Julie creates a sacred space at her table where our words may be released without criticism or guilt.
- S. McAllister
Write Club with Julie has helped me connect with deeper feelings and themes in my life and my writing. Our weekly meetings are a safe space for honest expression. Writing and reading aloud feels like a sacred practice as we witness and absorb each other’s stories. Connecting with other women and hearing their stories has been an honor as well as inspiring and reassuring. Unleashed has truly been a special gift in my life for five years.
- C. Gabert
Write Club and Julie have transformed my writing. In life, there are storytellers and teachers; Julie is both. Someone whose serenity and wisdom have influenced my work in the most profound ways.
- J. Griffith

Inspired by the Wild Writing practice of Laurie Wagner, Write Club is built on 3 simple but profound principles:
Over the course of two hours, we write three times, using poetry as a jumping-off point. The practice is not about perfection; it’s about presence. Whether you’re a seasoned writer, a beginner, or someone simply curious, this is a safe space to explore your voice.
For 15 minutes, we write by hand as fast as we can from a poetry prompt. It’s a different poem for every write. We pick a few lines from each poem and just riff off of them on the page. We only write by hand on paper because it slows us down. For these two hours, we step away from our fast-paced lives and back into a slow, more sustainable rhythm.
With each poetry prompt, we write fast and without stopping—unlocking creativity and bypassing self-criticism. We are digging to reach a space in which we are safe enough, loose enough, and brave enough to discover and articulate what we’re really trying to say, feel, communicate, or conjure.
We write three times within the session. After each timed write, participants read aloud. There’s no critique here, only listening, honoring, and gratitude for the courage it takes to share. The space is safe, utterly confidential, and truly fertile. Picture a tribe around a fire. It’s a lot like that. Sacred.
